<a class="addthis_button_preferred_1"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_preferred_2"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_preferred_3"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_preferred_4"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_compact"></a>
<a class="addthis_counter addthis_bubble_style"></a>
</div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/300/addthis_widget.js#pubid=xa-50692b5e30602aa1"></script>

If you were using the default AddThis configuration it's using what we call Preferred Services. These are different for each individual based on their past sharing history and what services are most popular in our service. These are designed to increase sharing by showing users the services they use most often.

If you want to specify which services are displayed, you can do it by using a service code instead of preferred. Details are available here: http://www.addthis.com/help/client-api#rendering-preferred-services

Hey there,

We'd love to help but we need some more information. Could you send the URL of the page where you're seeing the problem and the browsers and operating system you're using when you see it? This will help us to replicate the issue.

Thanks!

As with the previous poster - the articles on the site hirecentrix.com is also experiencing the same issues as described above. Pinterest stopped working w/in the Addthis plugin.

Worked fine about 1-2 weeks ago, w/o any issues, but now, that is the only button that is not working. I added an independent Pinterest Plugin, and that works fine.

My AddThis share bar also does not have a working Pinterest button - when clicking on it - it just does a refresh of the page and never contacts Pinterest. Why did it stop working and what can be done to fix it?

I got the same problem. 'pinterest_share' just links back to my landing page. It used to work.

As if pinterest itself is not accepting this anymore...

AddThism please come to our rescue!

Thanks

Hi

I have similar problem, no data is passed to pinterest sharing window when i click pinterest on, for example, this site http://beautysets.herokuapp.com/sets/4185/s/2/o/3. I think this is a problem with hash added to my site url by addthis. Can you please take a look at this?

We too have an issue with Pinit

In the pinit url you now have put the url param in the beginning, this url param now contains an hashtag which makes all the trailing params part of the hash instead of normal parameters.

please visit your own service page for pinit to see this behavior:

http://support.addthis.com/customer/portal/articles/381237-third-party-buttons#pinterest-pinit

(scroll down to the first pinit button and click it)

Is it because it's writing preferred buttons, and since pinterest hasn't been used as much, it can't be preferred yet? Is there any way we can use the preferred behavior, but also add pinterest?

I'm noticing this both on static html sites, and with the wp plugin updated today.

It doesn't work for me too.
Here is my example and analysis:

Visit: http://www.cucinare.meglio.it/ricetta-pizza_margherita_fatta_in_casa.html

Click PinIt button:

The url produced is:
http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=http://www.cucinare.meglio.it/ricetta-pizza_margherita_fatta_in_casa.html#.UIK_fpZSqsw.pinterest&media=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cucinare.meglio.it%2Fimg%2Fpiatti%2F43955-1.jpg&description=Pizza Margherita fatta in casa | Cucinare Meglio&layout=horizontal

Look at the string: #.UIK_fpZSqsw.pinterest
I don't know where it comes from. My config is:
addthis_config = {"data_track_addressbar":false};

If you visit the same long url without the final string #.UIK_fpZSqsw.pinterest
so it works fine!

http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=http://www.cucinare.meglio.it/ricetta-pizza_margherita_fatta_in_casa.html&media=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cucinare.meglio.it%2Fimg%2Fpiatti%2F43955-1.jpg&description=Pizza Margherita fatta in casa | Cucinare Meglio&layout=horizontal

I need help, please.

Problems with Pinterest too!

I have had Pinterest as one of the sharing buttons on my website for a while, and it has been working fine. Today, however, I noticed that when I clicked it to share some content, it directed to other services – for example, Tumblr, Reddit or Bookmarking.

This is the code I'm using:

<a class="addthis_button_preferred_12"><img src="../pictures/pinterest.jpg" alt="click to add image to pinterest" width="16" height="16" /></a>

I'd be grateful if anyone has any ideas on what's gone wrong, and how to put it right!

Thank you Paul (AddThis Happiness Specialist),
I don't refer to Preferred Services.
Please, how to avoid the "#.UIK_fpZSqsw.pinterest" string in my example?

I know, but you're using addthis_button_preferred_12 to get to Pinterest when it's easier just to do addthis_button_pinterest_share.

That code is added to do our click tracking, which gives you information about the people who return to your site from shared links. If they're causing trouble you can disable them by setting the data_track_clickback option to false like this:

<script type="text/javascript">
var addthis_config = addthis_config||{};
addthis_config.data_track_clickback = false;
</script>

More information on click tracking is available here: http://support.addthis.com/customer/portal/articles/381252-click-tracking
