window.open is not a function error in http://s7.addthis.com/static/r07/core025.js

I have added the AddThis code to a client site, and its not working in either Firefox or Safari. In Firefox, using the Error Console, I got this:

Timestamp: 7/24/12 4:52:20 PM
Error: window.open is not a function
Source File: http://s7.addthis.com/static/r07/core025.js
Line: 2

It looks like an error with an AddThis script - is there an update I missed?

Hey there,

We'd love to help but we need some more information. Could you send the URL of the page where you're seeing the problem and the browsers and operating system you're using when you see it? This will help us to replicate the issue.

Thanks!

I am also getting this error on my client's site. Here is an example page with the AddThis code:

http://www.feeneyinc.com/Feeney-Architectural-Products/Design-Rail

Both Facebook and Twitter share don't work in Firefox 16.0.2 on Mac OS 10.7.5.

It is also happening on Windows XP, using Parallels on my Mac. In Firefox I get the same error, I'm running FF 15.0.1 on the XP emulation, and IE8, which gives a different error: Function expected - core044.js Line 2, Char 53506.

Whoops! I skimmed the page and I didn't realize I had posted the original question (doh). On another note: is there any way I can get notified when someone answers? Hopefully you can see my account info to contact me, as I'm reluctant to post my email in this forum.

Since it's also broken in Safari it likely that there's a conflict between JavaScript on the page and our code. Could you try disabling some of the other JavaScript on the page to see if it gets the buttons to work?

That's going to be tricky. This site is generated by a NetSuite backend, and there are multiple vendors working on pages/templates, which makes the whole thing really complicated.

Is there a way to include the AddThis script higher in the page? Moving that call higher up is something I can do.

Yeah, just move the line with addthis_widget.js higher on the page. You can leave the buttons where they are.

I tried moving the script above any other javascript, and its still not working:
http://www.feeneyinc.com/Feeney-Architectural-Products/Design-Rail

Here is the script call, is this right?

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#pubid=ra-4e29d7245ced7a5f"></script>

Let me know if there is anything else I can try. thanks!
