Position of "share by email" popup when inside iframe

darren.brierton Jul 24, 2012 05:37AM EDT

Normally, the popup that appears when you click share by email is horizontally and vertically centered in the browser viewport. However, we are using AddThis in a custom YouTube channel, where our custom content (in YouTube parlance, our "gadget") is embedded inside an iframe on a YouTube page. In our particular case the iframe has quite a large height. The share by email popup is being centered horizontally and vertically in the iframe, with the result that is in fact often off-screen when the user clicks share by email, giving the impression that the function is in fact broken.

I cannot figure out how to override this behaviour. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank in advance.

Best, Darren

Unfortunately there's no way to override this behavior. However, you could switch to using our email sharing endpoint which will open it in a new window. More information on email sharing endpoints is available here: http://support.addthis.com/customer/portal/articles/381265-addthis-sharing-endpoints
