wordpress problem buttons do not line up

Hi - I have problems with using AddThis in a Wordpress blog.

I am using the sharing button builder here:https://www.addthis.com/get/sharing

This produces code like this:
<!-- AddThis Button BEGIN -->
<div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style ">
<a class="addthis_button_facebook_like" fb:like:layout="button_count"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_tweet"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_google_plusone" g:plusone:size="medium"></a>
<a class="addthis_counter addthis_pill_style"></a>
</div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#pubid=glasgowduo"></script>
<!-- AddThis Button END -->

I have added this to my blog page editor and published the page. This is the result: http://screencast.com/t/QUMrKBVh8R

The buttons stagger down the page instead of lining up.

I have tried this with variations on the code and the result is always this stagger effect.

This is a brand new blog installation of the latest version of Wordpress (3.4).

I have 2 active plugins:
Jetpack 1.3.4 by Wordpress.com [installed with WOrdpress]
Premise 2.0.4 by Copyblogger [installed to create landing pages - like the one I published here]

I did also try your AddThis plugin for WP but the buttons do not show up even when I change settings to show buttons on pages. I have assumed this is because Premise-style landing pages are different from standard Wordpress pages? I also would want to precisely place the position of the buttons on my page which I cannot see how to do using the plugin (even if the buttons did show up).

So, I'm all out of ides on how to make this work. Hope you can help?

Thanks!

Make sure your HTML editor isn't adding <br> tags between the buttons. If you could give me the URL of a page where you've got it implemented I could make sure that's the problem.

Yes, the problem is that by default Wordpress adds <br> tags when it sees linebreaks in widgets. This is stupid, but then again, this is Wordpress.

Just remove the linebreaks, and have your AddThis code look like one long line, wrapped in the widget's text field.
