URL shared is rejected by add this. Defaults to homepage URL.

Hello,

I have an e-commerce web site, in which I have added addthis to the dynamic page that displays a specific products details and image. This page is generated dynamically by my e-commerce software.

When I click on the facebook share button for a product, I can see in the generated URL that add this is trying to share the full URL of the product. However, once I get to the Facebook page where I complete the share, I am sharing the homepage, not the page that the addthis code resided on.

This is puzzling to me, as a few months ago when I first tested this, add this was working properly and sharing my products. Any help?

To view an example please visit http://www.yandasmusic.com/fenderstore

Select a product, and you will be taken to the product details page, where the add this code resides.

Thanks!
Alex

Facebook doesn't work like the other AddThis buttons. Instead of accepting parameters that we pass it, Facebook requests the URL you're sharing and gets the data it displays from the meta and link tags in the header. To control how your page is shared on Facebook you should use OpenGraph tags which are described in Facebook's documentation here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/
