Pinterest Sometimes Showing Up

Hello!

So I work for the CU Bookstore at the University of Colorado (www.cubookstore.com). We are implementing the AddThis plug-in to our product pages and it's really nice.

Our marketing department is wanting to have the Pinterest Button show up on the initial menu. Unfortunately, it will not. I've read that article saying that Pinterest's API isn't quite available to have this feature added and that for Pinterest you have to use their Pin-It button instead.

Although I've noticed on a few sites (

) that Pinterest shows up in the menu and even when you click more, you can search for them. I also have noticed that many other sites don't have this, like ours.

I've re-installed it a billion times, but I've noticed that the JavaScript calls never change. I also have decreased the customization, ie the addthis_config, portion to out-of-the-box plug-in, if you will.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? Has anyone else come across this same problem?

As of now, Pinterest requires an image to be submitted for sharing to work. Thus we only show Pinterest in the menu if an image has been declared. You can define an image per sharing button using our API, but it's better for the internet as a whole if you define an OpenGraph image meta tag on each page that you'd like to support Pinterest.

Sample tag:
<meta property="og:image" content="http://shikazzz.wikispaces.com/file/view/rock.jpg/106653807/rock.jpg" />

See http://ogp.me/ for more information.

Hope this helps!
