Buttons Have Changed

Our AddThis buttons have changed from “Flickr” to “Print” in several accounts. We didn’t change the code in the index files. I found this article on AddThis's support forum that leads me to believe that they change buttons depending on what services the end user is and is not selecting… http://support.addthis.com/customer/portal/questions/204010-toolbox-changing-when-you-refresh-the-page-

Here’s where we get stuck, the link seems to say that if we take the code shown and replace certain services with the services we want, and then paste that in the index for our client it should fix our problem. But will that erase all previous data associated with the old code?

If you were using the default AddThis configuration it's using what we call Preferred Services. These are different for each individual based on their past sharing history and what services are most popular in our service. These are designed to increase sharing by showing users the services they use most often.

If you want to specify which services are displayed, you can do it by using a service code instead of preferred. Details are available here: http://www.addthis.com/help/client-api#rendering-preferred-services
