4/10/12 AddThis release is causing issues in IE 8 and IE 9

It appears that the AddThis JavaScript is prematurely causing the DOM loaded event to fire. This started happening on 4/10, which is also when AddThis modified their code. It resolves itself when the AddThis references are removed from the page. This causes onLoad events we have on our pages to run prematurely and cause JavaScript errors on our pages (sporadically depending on whether enough of the page has loaded or not.) For many requests, this is causing our pages not to render correctly and the end user gets a nasty yellow triangle in their status bar (due to the JavaScript issues.)

AddThis code artifacts were modified Tuesday April 10th.

Unless a fix is implemented, our only recourse is to remove the AddThis component from our site. There is another question already posted where other parties are having the same issue. I have sent feedback directly to AddThis and in neither case has AddThis responded. Is this going to be resolved, or is AddThis's position that we should stop using the AddThis component? Please respond in some form or fashion.
