Custom buttons - pinterest and google plus icons not 16x16 like the rest...

jabbamonkey Mar 28, 2012 @ 08:54PM EDT
First off, for some reason this forum doesn't let me post the carrot character, so the html code below has the carrots removed...

The icon for PINTEREST isn't the same size as the rest of the buttons (which are all 16x16)... The GOOGLE PLUS icon is also larger than 16x16 and has a counter...

div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style " /a
a class="addthis_button_facebook" /a
a class="addthis_button_twitter" /a
a class="addthis_button_pinterest" /a
a class="addthis_button_google_plusone" /a
a class="addthis_button_email" /a
a class="addthis_button_compact" /a
a class="addthis_counter addthis_bubble_style" /a

We tried using our own images for the buttons, but it didn't work. It overlayed the new 16x16 icon that we created ontop of the larger images (so the larger image was poking out underneath).

So, we found a solution for the PINTEREST icon (see below). It works, but there is no hover (which isn't a big deal).

div class="pinterest-ico"
a href=""
img src="/images/small-p-button.png" width="16" height="16" alt="Pinterest"

For GOOGLE PLUS, we just replaced it with the generic GOOGLE icon (which is NOT ideal).

The problem is... we need the google plus icon to work at 16x16. And would like a regular pinterest icon at 16x16. Also, the counter does not work on the addthis code for our site... (we have the code added at the top and bottom of the article)

Please help.

Here's what I get when I put the Google Plus One button inside a 16x16 toolbox:

What should the count be on that article? I was able to share the page and have the counter increment

What code did you use? The code I used above put in a larger icon...

Any idea how to get the pinterest to work at that size?

Here's the code I used:

<div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style ">
<a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_pinterest"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_google_plusone"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_email"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_compact"></a>
<a class="addthis_counter addthis_bubble_style"></a>

The Pinterest button currently doesn't support a smaller size but we're working with them to have it available

I use the same code as you posted but still have to solve the pinit size issue as well. Adding my vote for pinit 16x16 icon support.

Could you not implement this one in the meantime?

I agree. A 16x16 red "P" button, please.

I know there's options for switching pieces on other buttons, like turning counter bubbles on/off for Facebook, Twitter... So perhaps a "PinIt" vs "P" option for Pinterest?

Use this code for the 16x16 Pinterest button:
<a class="addthis_button_pinterest_share"></a>
