waiting for

travstar Mar 15, 2012 @ 09:02PM EDT
This morning any pages on my website that had the add this buttons installed froze because they were waiting for waiting for I tried a few browsers and different computers so I know it's not a problem at my end. I's working fine now but I'm concerned it may happen again. this isn't the first time.

Here's a page on my site with the addthis code installed.

I couldn't access the addthis site either. I read somewhere it may be a geographic thing (im in Australia).

I'm about to release a new version of my site where I have included the addthis code in the header but , now I'm thinking I'll just get my developer to build our own "Sharing" tool so we don't need to worry about the s7.addthis problem

Do you have a solution to this problem?

I can't duplicate the issue, and haven't heard anything from other users, so it's likely that the problem is because of your geographic location. (If we had had sustained downtime I'd have been inundated by support requests.)

However, you could try moving the AddThis JavaScript to the bottom of the page and loading it asynchronously. That way your site will be able to finish loading and users can interact with it before AddThis loads. More information is available here:
