Adding AddThis Follow to Wordpress site

anjellael Aug 20, 2013 @ 09:08PM EDT
Hi -
I am trying to add AddThis Follow to a particular part of my website ( - on the social section under the header Follow Me). (PS: This website is my first effort and nowhere near done!) I can't use the widget (or if I can I don't know how to use it to add it to this section only).

I am a total newbie to wordpress, so my apologies if this is a redundant question.

I appreciate any help you have.

Thank you!

Hi Angela,

Without knowing exactly how your theme is setup, I don't know which part of the theme controls the Follow Me section. Does that section of your page use widgets? If so, you can just paste in our follow button code into a text widget.

Hi Matt -
As far as I can tell, I can't use a widget on this section. I will ask the theme maker if they have any suggestions. In the meantime, are there any other options besides a widget?

Hi Angela,

Sorry, but I'm not familiar with that theme, so I don't know how it's structured. Generally, the other alternative is to edit the theme's template (PHP) directly, which is serving the content for your page.
