On May 7, 2013 we upgraded everyone to the latest version of AddThis, version 3.0. It's got new sharing interfaces, instant sharing, and better mobile implementations. More details on the new version can be found here

1. Why did you upgrade everyone? - We don't want anyone to miss out on the new features in AddThis 3.0, or the 40% increase in sharing we've seen with it. We also want to be able to move forward with new and exciting features without having to support an older version of our code.

2. What if I'm not ready? - If you want more time to test AddThis 3.0 with your code, use the delayupgrade option on your addthis_widget.js script like this:a

<script type="text/javascript" src="//s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#delayupgrade=1"></script>

To include the delayupgrade option with your profile ID, do this:

<script type="text/javascript" src="//s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#delayupgrade=1"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var addthis_config = addthis_config||{};
addthis_config.pubid = 'YOUR PUBID';
</script>

Replace YOUR PUBID with the profile ID you're using on the page.

NOTE: This will only work until August 7th. After that everyone will be upgraded to 3.0 regardless of the opt-out parameter.

3. How can I make sure my site is ready? - If you'd like to see what your site will look like, just add this parameter to any of your URLs:

?_addthis_upgrade_test

For example, if our tools were installed on http://example.com/a/page, you'd go to:

http://example.com/a/page?_addthis_upgrade_test

If your URL already has parameters, add it at the end. So if our tools were installed on http://example.com/a/page?param=value, you'd go to:

http://example.com/a/page?param=value&_addthis_upgrade_test
